New Video Demonstrates Strength Of Bass Lasso Net

August 10, 2009 – A new video has been posted on Youtube showing just how strong this great collapsible net really is. Watch as the inventor, Rod Presnell of Tallahassee, Florida, hoists and throws around a 15 point brick inside of the Bass Lasso fishing net.

How To Use The Simple, Collapsible Bass Fishing Net

July 1, 2009 – Even though the use of this net is so simple and intuitive, Rod decided he would produce a short video on how to first open and use the Bass Lasso, and then how to collapse the fishing net for easy storage.

Bass Lasso Launches With Great Success

Good showing in Jacksonville at The Florida Sportsman Fishing & Boat Show – much learned on many levels and great interest expressed with solid relationships also established. There was a lot of interest in the Bass Lasso, both from industry professionals and sources, as well as private attendees.

Florida Sportsman Fishing & Boat Show

The Bass Lasso was at The Florida Sportsman Fishing & Boat Show at the Prime Osborn Convention Center in Jacksonville, FL.

It was a great success, we were priveledged to meet a lot of new people and contacts.

Bass Lasso Net Sees Brisk Sales And New Nicknames

Even though the Bass Lasso fish landing net has not had any formal advertising, the word-of-mouth has been bringing droves of new people to discover the great benefits of owning this innovative fishing net.

Some of the changes are in R&D, where Rod is looking at various net sizes based upon the requests of different types of fishermen and boat owners. To facilitate future product development, the Bass Lasso is now part of a soon larger family of nets that will be known as “the Lasso Net.” So if you see or hear information about the Lasso Net, it is all part of the Bass Lasso and Rod Presnell family.

Saw the video today while searching for a simular net. I’m here in Tallahassee but I fish most often in North Carolina. I’ve got into trout fishing which is done primarly on foot, in the water or on the bank. The traditional trout net is somewhat bulky and cumberson to carry along with your other gear; that’s why I have been searching for something more storage friendly.
The basslasso looks to fill the bill however It’s too big. Is there a possibility it could be made smaller to take advantage of the lucrative “trout” market? Also, a couple of my fishing friends and I had discussed this portability issue and concluded that there is also a need for a “trout” size net with some type of extension handle(possibly teloscoping). Many times the bank you fish from is blocked by bushes or boulders, or sometimes you are standing on a ledge a few feet above the water level. I have some ideas on the demensions if you would like to give me a call. My cell is (850)508-9544

Thanks,
Max

Thank you for the comment Max.

We have considered revising the Bass Lasso to include different sizes. In fact, we may go as small as a live well dip net. I believe that we will eventually create a design specifically for trout fishing and I already have several ideas. I appreciate your taking the time to review the BassLasso and the time to communicate.

Keep checking back with us as the site will hopefully continue to offer other revisions to the net as well as some neat accessories.

Your Sept. 8th post says pricing will be available at the end of September. What’s the price? When can I get one? Where do I get one?
Thanks,
Winston

Rod,
My son said you should think about the Kayka fisherman, he said it would work great in a kayka where there is not much room.

8 Joe Manausa November 9, 2009 at 10:01 pm

Thanks Steve, that is great advice. The Bass Lasso stores away tightly!

9 Red Resener November 12, 2009 at 4:12 pm

I have an online tackle store and would be interested in selling your nets, but at this time I do not warehouse anything. All of my suppliers are willing to accept orders as I receive them and drop ship directly to my customers. If you would be interested, please contact me directly at the email address above or call 888-692-2208. Looks like you have a great product that should sell like wildfire!

Your Lasso looks fantastic! The video is very charming. I especially like the “one-handed” use that was demonstrated. I suddenly feel the urge to fish…

Very nice net. I had the pleasure of seeing one that was recently delivered to my nephew in Tallahassee. You are definately building a better (and long awaited) mousetrap.

Your net is awesome. It was given to me by my brother in law who saw it in Ft. Myers. I am the founder of the NCKFA (North Carolina Kayak Fishing Association) and would be honored to have you as a sponsor in our upcoming Fall Classic. Please visit our website and go to the tourney page. Read our open letter to sponsors and let me know what you think. I would love to have 4 which would go with the kayak for First place in each division. I believe that once the kayak community saw your wonderful product up close they would love it as much as I do due to the fact it closes up and does not get tangled in the kayak which has very limited space. Please consider this and let me know what you think.

How does it hold up under bass tournament conditions?

22 playshandball October 16, 2010 at 5:38 pm

Rod,
Am a very discriminating designer in process of outfitting myself for backpack fly fishing. Have found the type of compact rod I want in the Tenkara telescoping fly rods. But until googling upon your’s I couldn’t find a collapsing net that matched that rod for backpacking compactness. Your’s is terriffic concept, but way too big for what I have in mind. Inasmuch as I have chosen the Hane Tenkara rod model…only available from Backpackinglight.com ….at an overall length of 16″ for the telescoped collapsed rod length…the shortest of all Tenkara telescoped rods….I think that you should make a collapsing net at that same overall length also. You’d have a huge market. But you should also make it extremely light weight…probably also in carbon fiber. Also, let me know what the smallest lightest
net you’ve got right now is.

23 Susan November 27, 2010 at 12:07 am

searching for a retractable fishing net that my husband showed me at bass pro but came across yours while surfing which is much cheaper than the $80 item at the Bass Pro. I am always looking for something that is “less money” but want it to hold up. It will be used for bass fishing. I couldn’t find any reviews on it yet.

24 Fly Fisherman December 14, 2010 at 7:06 pm

I also would be interested in a small stream / trout net. It would be nice to have a collapsable net with out the net hanging from ones neck during transport. Fly fisherman out there, you know what I am talking about..

25 Richard Morrison January 22, 2011 at 11:06 pm

Do you still have the first generation if so would you consider a consignment sporting goods store? Simple question for one of my sponsors. Thank you
